Regenerative Medicine for Pain — Interventional Pain Consultants

Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative medicine harnesses the body's own healing mechanisms to repair damaged tissue, reduce inflammation, and restore function. IPC offers cutting-edge biologic therapies for joint, tendon, and spine conditions.

Unlike conventional pain treatments that primarily mask discomfort, regenerative therapies work with your body's natural biology to encourage genuine tissue repair and long-term recovery. These treatments are particularly beneficial for patients with musculoskeletal injuries, joint degeneration, and tendon damage.

Our team carefully evaluates each patient's condition to determine the most appropriate regenerative therapy, whether PRP or BMAC, as part of a comprehensive, personalized pain management strategy.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses a concentrated preparation of your own blood platelets — rich in growth factors and anti-inflammatory proteins — to stimulate healing in damaged joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles. Because PRP is derived from your own blood, there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction or rejection.

Conditions treated include knee osteoarthritis, rotator cuff tendinopathy, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, and degenerative disc disease.

The entire process takes about 45-60 minutes. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications for 2-4 weeks before and after the injection. Many patients experience significant improvement lasting 6-12+ months.

Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC)

BMAC therapy uses concentrated stem cells and growth factors harvested from your own bone marrow to promote tissue regeneration and healing. The bone marrow aspirate contains mesenchymal stem cells that can differentiate into cartilage, bone, tendon, and other tissues.

Conditions treated include moderate-to-severe knee osteoarthritis, avascular necrosis (early stages), cartilage defects, chronic tendon injuries unresponsive to PRP, and degenerative disc disease.

The procedure takes 60-90 minutes under local anesthesia. BMAC is typically used for more severe conditions where PRP alone has been insufficient. Relief typically lasts 12-24+ months.
